Cosmetic benefits
The oil extracted from the mechanical pressing of Hemp seeds is particularly appreciated in cosmetics. With its high concentration of omega-3 and omega-6, it has almost the same composition as the lipids found in the skin. This oil is recommended for the care of all skin types and in particular dry, mature and dehydrated skin. It is recognised for its excellent absorption and its nourishing, hydrating and regenerating properties. Lastly, applied to hair, it adds vigour, volume and a shiny appearance.
Origin / Cultivation
Hemp is different from its cousin cannabis, which does not have the same concentration of THC, a psychoactive compound (THC = tetrahydrocannabinol). The oldest archaeological evidence on hemp was found in China, on a site dating back to 8000 BC. Great civilisations used this plant in their pharmacopoeia as well as for its solid fibres and seeds. Hemp is still used today in the textile and cosmetics industries.
